GeoTrack records your trips for a server you run yourself. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third parties. Everything it records goes to one place: the server address you enter in Setup. We (the developer) do not receive any of it.
Your Setup (server address, token, device names) is kept in the iOS Keychain. Positions, workouts and photos wait in the app's own storage until your server has taken them, then they are removed. The mode and the last results are kept in the app's preferences.
GeoTrack asks to read workouts, heart rate and workout routes. It uses them for nothing but the upload to your server. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone but the server you chose.
Recording in the background needs the “Always” location permission. The app records continuously in Auto, records and sends on your tap in Manual, and records nothing in Paused. The blue arrow in the status bar shows when it records.
Switch the mode to Paused to stop recording. Withdraw a permission in iOS Settings at any time: the app then says on its Status screen what it can no longer do. Delete the app to remove everything it holds on the phone. What a server already received is handled on that server.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
Questions and problems: support@somil-and.com. GeoTrack works with any server that accepts its three HTTPS routes for positions, workouts and photos; write to the address above for their description.
